Duplex

Developed during my residency at Duplex AIR in Lisbon, this research revolves around the figure of the cowboy at sea (to be developed) — a displaced character drifting between land and water. The cowboy shifts from a symbol of territory to one of wandering and not quite belonging.

The visual outcomes use pojagi patchwork curtains as both method and metaphor. Built from fragments, they recall parts of homes, doors, and sails — temporary structures that let light, memory, and movement pass through. The work leans into permeability, incompleteness, and staying in motion
